Baths, Beds and Other Adventures

I like adventures (more on that later), but at night I'm all about the routine. Particularly when it comes to bath time, tooth-brushing and getting my sleep on. While I've always liked water and bath time, these days I've been taking on some very adventurous baby-swim moves (all properly supervised, of course). Specifically, I like to lie flat on my back (see top picture) and feel the water surround my cheeks. Then I'll kick my legs, like a backstroke kick, to get a splash groove going. My other thing is to flip over on my belly so I can test out my freestyle kicking and arm motions. I haven't perfected it yet, but give me time. Sometimes I like to dip, yes dip, my face down into the water - it's like giving the water a kiss, really. Feeling the water tickle my face makes me giggle and squeal out in delight.

Now, I'm also quite particular about keeping my teeth clean and I make it a point to brush my teeth and/or wash my hands and face whenever I'm near the bathroom. Check out by tooth-brushing skills. Maybe one of these days I'll figure out how to do a slide-show that includes some other pictures from this impromptu photo shoot, because it looks like a cool, old-time video when you watch the sequence one right after the other.



On Sunday, someone you know got a "big boy" bed delivered to his house. You read that right, baby. Now, I've been sleeping solo in the guest bedroom for a few weeks, but there's really nothing like having your "own" bed. Enough with the crib (it was recalled anyway), I never had much of a taste for being behind bars. So it's official - I'm off to the races, so-to-speak. I'll be two years old in just a few month's time so might as well get a jump on the big-boy bed bandwagon. Check me out...I LOVE this bed! Mommy Cia took these pictures with her iPhone, and quite frankly I was moving around a lot, so there may be some blur - but you get the idea.




Before I leave you, I must share with you some pics from last Friday's evening adventure. We were all feeling down about Lucy's passing, so as a way to celebrate her fun-loving life, I took the Moms to the Children's Museum in Downtown Boston. The Museum has a splendid climbing sculpture that goes up 3 stories! Guess who climbed that sucker? You got it! Mommy Jenny went with me (there are big kids in there, you know) and we had a blast. We did some other cool stuff and I'll share that with you in another post. For now, check out my climbing adventure. That's right...I'm climbed this beast all the way to the top! Yeah, baby!!!

Please raise your sippy cups and take a drink in remembrance of Lucy the Dog, who passed away early this morning. She was a good dog and will be missed very much. We will share some fun stories about her in a follow-up post. For now, enjoy some pictures of Lucy and her sis, Sydney.

Atlantan Fun Time

Greetings! This past month has been so whacky that I told Mommy Jenny that it was time to head down south (is Atlanta, Georgia, considered south enough) for a little R&R...that's rest and relaxation for some people; runnin' and runnin' for me. What better way to re-charge our batteries than to spend time with family, make some music and visit an aquarium? It was exactly what we needed.

So, off we went. We left Mommy Cia in our wake and off we went to visit my Uncle Melvin, my Aunt's Margarget and Eddie Rene, Uncle Donald and cousin Madison and her mommy, Martha. Talk about fun, fun, fun! On Friday night I went out with Aunt Margaret and Uncle Donald for some Mexican food. Oh, that was tastey. By the time Saturday rolled around it was time to show off my mad music "skillz". So, cousin Madison and I picked up the spoons, grabbed some pots and made music together. Below are some pictures from our jam session. I was going to post the video, but it is taking too long to load up, so I'll do a follow-up post and include it because you don't want to miss it!



On Sunday, my Uncle Melvin took us to the Georgia Aquarium. Oh. My. Goodness. Talk about an adventure! I got to see sharks and whales and humongo crabs and lots of diffrent kinds of fish. One area had a domed ceiling, so the fish were swimming all around us. How cool is that?! My Uncle Melvin is very cool and it was such a nice treat to spend time with him. He even hooked me up with a wicked, sweet sweatshirt, too!



On Sunday we hung out with some of Mommy Jenny's other cousins, Taurus, Teesa and their daughter, Brittany, and their son, Bryce. It was Super Bowl Sunday and what kind of "super party" would it be without a little wrestling? Bryce is a little peeper who's a little older than me and we had lots of fun wrestling and goofing off (sorry no pictures/video of that).

What a trip...the weather was perfect, the food was delicious and the time I spent relaxing was well worth the frequent flier miles. Until next time!

New Year's Madness

Happy New Year! I know I'm 13 days late wishing you a fabulous New Year, but 2009 has been a little wacky lately. That said, my New Year's celebration went smashingly well, beginning with a lovely visit (and romp) with my cousins Hayden and Myra.

Check us out doin' laps at my Uncle Rob & Aunt Brenda's office. Make sure you have to volume up...it's way more fun to watch that way.


We had loads of fun looking at my Aunt & Uncle's new office. I especially enjoyed the faux snowball fight that we had using a bucket of soft little balls that we found. That kept us busy for a good 20 minutes!

Shortly after Christmas I went to New York with Mommy Jenny. It was great to see Grandma Bertha and Grandpa Jessie for the holidays, too. I even got a chance to show Grandpa Jessie some of my dance moves. He can move pretty well, but I gotta tell ya...he's got nothing on me! I can cut a rug like nobody's business! During my visit I also had loads of fun hanging out with Aunt Lakia. She has turned into quite the sushi lover, so she, Mommy Jenny & I went into Manhattan for some big city sushi!

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!

I hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful Christmas and a having a super Hanukkah. This time of year always makes me a little misty-eyed, because it's a celebration of family and friends (and Jesus' birth, of course). And for those of you with whom I wasn't able to celebrate this year, I'm thinking of and holding you near and dear to my heart.

Yesterday we had a lovely Christmas Eve party. I enjoyed seeing everyone and partied as long as I could. I've been battling a cold the past couple of days, so I wasn't totally on my game, but had a lovely time regardless.

Today, we had a very lazy Christmas with a leisurely breakfast and a prolonged gift exchange. I received a lot of nice gifts from the neighbors here in Florida, and I am now the proud owner of a complete Argentine Gaucho outfit, complements of my Tia Lucy and familia. They also sent me a beautiful poncho and sweater. Gorgeous! Muchas gracias!!!

The rest of the day was spent relaxing, enjoying each other's company since tomorrow I head back to MA. It's been a lovely trip and I can't believe it's almost over! Alas...all good things must come to an end. To that end, here are some final Christmas pictures to share before I head on home.
