Lakeside Lounging

Finally -- some SUN! We have had a lot of rain. I am talking days of rain, with occasional spots of sunshine. Thank goodness the sun decided to make an appearance, because it was starting to get depressing. Over the weekend, Mommy Cia took me to hang out at the Miles Standish State Forest. It's just over in Plymouth, but she joked about it being devoid of cell phone service and all things "newfangled". Maybe so...but man, I LOVED it out there! Beautiful trees, plenty of campground and neat cabins. Nothin' but nature, baby.

I had an absolutely awesome time meeting new people and hanging out in the lake. Swimming. Fishing. Boating. Ahhh...the fresh air! I couldn't get enough, and Mommy Cia had to drag me away from the water at the end of the day. I tell ya, it was so nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and I can't wait to go again sometime soon.

Check out this picture of me in my new boat. Ok, so it's not really mine, but I like to think it is. There's nothing wrong with a little daydreaming. Besides, as you can see from the picture above, I make a VERY good (and dashingly handsome) captain. Who cares if that wasn't really the steering wheel? It looks like I've been driving (and sailing) boats my whole life, doesn't it?

As I said, fishing was a biggie during my visit to the State Forest, and Mommy Cia was quite determined to teach me how to fish. Now, we did a lot of practicing without an actual hook - she didn't want to impale herself, as it has been quite some time since she last casted a reel. But I must say, she wasn't too shabby, and if this keeps up, I'll be a master caster in no time. We're going to keep practicing next weekend and perhaps by the 4th of July I will be able to say I caught a fish. If so, you'll know it. Because I'll blog it. Oh, heck yeah, I will! Check out my mad skills...

There were TONS of little fish, otherwise known as minnows, swimming around the lake. I tried to catch them with my net, but they are FAST little buggers. Mommy Cia tried to help me, but all she did was scare them away. Though, I must say, she almost got me a little tadpole. That would have been pretty cool.

Me and history...The Mayflower. Now, that's a big boat.

What better way to close out the weekend than to have a HUGE cupcake? YUMMMM!

Time Flies...

When you're having fun! I don't know about you, but I am already knee-deep in summer games and summer daydreams. Mommy Jenny and I took a Duck Boat tour the other day and I had loads of fun. The weather was grey, but who cares when you're having a blast? Mommy Cia says she was quite jealous of our trip, but was super happy I had so much fun.

Here I am looking out on the water and the Zakim Bridge as a backdrop!

Mommy Jenny also gave me a garden kit as part of my birthday present. It was fun planting and I am looking forward to more gardening this summer. As you can see, gardening is some serious, serious business! It's a good thing Mommy Cia doesn't garden - she would kill the plants. But look at me! I'm quite good at it and can't wait to see my garden grow.

A couple of weeks ago I went with Mommy Jenny to visit Grandma and Grandpa Moore in NYC. We didn't take many pictures, but here are a couple for your viewing pleasure. One is of me helping to mow the concrete (it's harder than you think) and the other is of Grandma Bertha showing me how to properly cross the street. It's always nice visiting NYC and I'm looking foward to a visit over Father's Day weekend.

Hope you have an awesome week. Until next time!

Up!

The other day I saw the movie, "Up" in 3D with Mommy Cia. For a 2yr old, I did pretty well and was quite rivoted for 90% of the time. Afterwards, I couldn't stop saying, "Mama - fun movie!". Oh, I loved going to the movie like a big kid, and the popcorn wasn't too bad either!

So, if you haven't seen the movie, you should check it out. I think you'll really like it.
