Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!

I hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful Christmas and a having a super Hanukkah. This time of year always makes me a little misty-eyed, because it's a celebration of family and friends (and Jesus' birth, of course). And for those of you with whom I wasn't able to celebrate this year, I'm thinking of and holding you near and dear to my heart.

Yesterday we had a lovely Christmas Eve party. I enjoyed seeing everyone and partied as long as I could. I've been battling a cold the past couple of days, so I wasn't totally on my game, but had a lovely time regardless.

Today, we had a very lazy Christmas with a leisurely breakfast and a prolonged gift exchange. I received a lot of nice gifts from the neighbors here in Florida, and I am now the proud owner of a complete Argentine Gaucho outfit, complements of my Tia Lucy and familia. They also sent me a beautiful poncho and sweater. Gorgeous! Muchas gracias!!!

The rest of the day was spent relaxing, enjoying each other's company since tomorrow I head back to MA. It's been a lovely trip and I can't believe it's almost over! Alas...all good things must come to an end. To that end, here are some final Christmas pictures to share before I head on home.

Merry Christmas Eve!

It's the day before Christmas and all through the house, lots of people were stirring for a pre-Christmas party rout. That's right. The grandparents party down here and we're prepping for a bash tonight. A smaller crowd that usual since a number of folks are out of town, but a bash nonetheless.

Yesterday, we visited my friend, Miss Jana and her parents, Ms. Susan and Mr. John...and their super cute dog, Colby. I think I got that right, but I've been slightly under the weather the last two days, so Mr. John, correct me if I got the puppy's name wrong. Anyway, we had a grand time and they surprised me with a very nice Christmas gift. I had fun unwrapping my gift and once unwrapped, I proceeded to "re-wrap" by bring each piece of the box and the items over to Mr. John, one-by-one. I'm tidy that way. I was reviewing my stash last night and I must say, my wardrobe has moved up another notch because of their very fine fashion sense. Thank you so much!!!

Here I am with Miss Jana and her Mommy and Daddy:

During our visit I had a chance to show of a few of my mad skills, including a new one that Tia Lucy taught me, where I kick the ball and yell "Gol!", the spanish cry for "Goal". Mr. John and I picked a HUGE orange from his orange tree (see above picture) - it was like a soccer ball! So naturally, I started kicking it around and yelled out, "Gooooollll!".

They also treated us to a lovely lunch where fine conversation was had by all. Of course, the highlight of the meal for me was stealing potato chips from Mommy Cia's plate and putting them on my own plate. Because, everything really tastes much better when taken from someone else's plate. It is the "giving" season after all, nevermind that in this case I was "taking". Semantics...

Here are some other pictures from my visit:

Brrr...

You heard right. Brrrr...it's cold down here. Today was only a high of 60 degrees! Thank goodness we're going back into the 70's tomorrow. I don't think I can take this cold weather for too long. Of course, I know what I'll be coming home to on Friday, but we're not their yet, so let me live in my warm and sunny Florida-world for just a little longer.

This evening I continued on with my spanish lessons from Grandma Coca and Tia Lucy. My phrase for the evening was, "no mas", which translates to, "no more". The Moms missed out on that, because they went shopping and watched another movie (something about taking advantage of the free babysitting while they can). They saw "Seven Pounds" this time, with Will Smith and Rosario Dawson and said it was good, but very heavy. I think they would have enjoyed watching me learn spanish more though.

Earlier today we went with Grandpa Bob to the Webster Co. Flea Market. Let me tell you straight up...that's a lot of stuff they have over there. Yes, a lot of...stuff. Mommy Cia and Mommy Jenny got bored after a while and luckily they found a playground nearby so I could burn off a little energy. Here are a couple of pics.

La Vaca

Funny story of the day...

The Setup: Mommy Cia is pointing at everyone around the table, asking me who's who.

Mommy Cia: (pointing to Grandma Coca) Who's that?
Me: Gramma!
Mommy Cia: (pointing to Grandpa Bob) Who's that?
Me: Granpapa!
Mommy Cia: (pointing to Mommy Jenny) Who's that?
Me: Mommy Enny!
Mommy Cia: (pointing to Tia Lucy) Who's that?
Me: VACA!

The entire table erupts in laughter that doesn't stop for minutes...

Now, for those of you who don't speak spanish, "Vaca" is the spanish word for "Cow". So, you can imagine me calling my lovely Tia Lucy a cow. Hahaha! Oh, it was really funny.

This morning we went to church and when we left there were...clowns out side. Yes, freaky, freaky clowns. Look at my face in this picture. Do I look happy to be surrounded by clowns?

This is me in a Heisman pose...(Yes, I know I'm wearing a basketball outfit and the Heisman is for football, but you get the point - this is my sports pose!)

And me, checking myself out - I'm a handsome devil...

And me with Grandpa Bob, reading in bed.

Until next time!

Super Swimming

It wouldn't be a trip to Florida without visiting the pool. I mean, really. I would be embarrassed to go back home only to say I didn't hit the pool at least once. So, Mommy Cia and I hit the pool this afternoon. The water was perfect - not too hot, not too cold.

Here's a video clip of Mommy Cia and I playing the pool.

Here are some more great pics from today...

Lazy Days

Such is the life in Florida...sun, beautiful weather and lazy days. The Moms came back late from a movie tonight and caught this picture of me and Grandpa Bob, knocked out in bed.

A side note...I LOVE, let me say it again, LOVE, the swing behind the Grand'rent's house. Here's a video of me getting on the swing and then some more pictures of me hangin' around the back patio.

Florida Fun

Greetings! I know it's been awhile since my last post, but I've been busy and distracted. Some might even call it holiday fever. This past month has been a countdown to Florida. It's hard to concentrate when Florida is on the mind.

This moring we left for a 9 day trip to see the grand'rents AND as a special bonus, my cousin Lucy is visiting from Argentina. Lucy is "on" all the time -- let's see if she can really keep up with me. *wink, wink*

The Moms have been looking forward to this trip for many reasons, namely they get to take regularly-scheduled naps each day. And, really, who can resist a nap? Mommy Cia already took advantage of that this afternoon. Once she laid down, she was out. O-U-T. Out! While she napped, Mommy Jenny & Prima Lucy took me for a whirl in the golf cart (see above picture). Oh, boy! That was fun, fun, fun!

Here are more pictures from my first day. We're looking for a fun weekend filled with NAPS, hanging out and 80 degree weather. Yeah, baby! All the while, I'll do my best at updating regularly so you can see all my fun in the sun.
